UFC President Dana White more influential than Obama?
UFC President Dana White more influential than US President Barack Obama? ... YES! ... according to TIME magazine.
According to Time readers, White more influential than Obama.
Dana White has been nominated to be included in Time Magazine's Most Influential People. Yes, our own foul-mouthed UFC president has been noticed by the most mainstream media. By reader voting, he is even near the top of the most influential list, ahead of President Obama, Lady Gaga and boxer Manny Pacquiao.
Here's what Time had to say about White:
The sport White champions is officially called mixed-martial arts but he and his partners have successfully branded it Ultimate Fighting, the name of their outfit, and that's how it's almost universally known — to the chagrin of other MMA organizers. By doing so, he has revived a spectacle that had fallen into such disrepute that it was once described as "human cockfighting." Now, professional boxing wishes it were Ultimate Fighting. White is the UFC's public face, most pugnacious booster, No. 1 tweeter and irrepressible fan — the ruler of Fight Club.
Does he deserve to be included?
Considering the company he has helped build reached its apex last summer with UFC 100, yes. White has pushed the UFC to be an internationally known brand; in the past year, fights have been in Germany and Australia. Under his leadership, the UFC successfully lobbied to get MMA legalized or regulated in Wisconsin and his home state of Massachusetts, and they're headed to Vancouver for the first time this summer.
At the same time, the UFC is still struggling to get the sport legalized in New York. White suffered an especially public defeat last summer when Fedor Emelianenko signed with Strikeforce instead of the UFC. He also went through a PR mess when he dropped a slur against gays and another against women in a video blog in a rant about a reporter.

Dana White One of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People? Madness
The gate holding mixed martial arts back from mainstream acceptance continues to creak open.
As a further sign, UFC President Dana White is on the short list of contenders for Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Though the poll just went live on Thursday morning, White was ranked in the top 10 of votes, ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama, entertainment mogul Oprah Winfrey and billionaire philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates, among others.
The list focuses on leaders, artists, innovators and icons with a global impact.
In 2007, Time 100 list managing editor Richard Strengel explained that the Time 100 was not a list of the hottest, most popular or most powerful people, but rather the most influential, saying, “Influence is hard to measure, and what we look for is people whose ideas, whose example, whose talent, whose discoveries transform the world we live in.”

Craigslist and Kijiji - Awesome FREEBIES hunting sites
Hey everyone. I hope you all are having a fantastic time hunting down freebies and deals. Most of you probably already know about Craigslist and Kijiji, but for those who don't, you're in for a treat. These two ever-increasing popular classifieds sites have everything a person could want to buy/sell/trade , etc and not only that, they have a daily posted FREEBIES / FREE STUFF section also!! The free stuff is posted and given away by people in your own locality, so they're not really online freebies per se, but mostly actual tangible free stuff you can go and pick up from them, so in some ways, that's even better and more exiciting.
And Craigslist.org and Kijiji are set up in such a simple way that they go by cities and country, especially Craigslist, which is worldwide. Kijiji is geared more towards Canadians, but also has a broad US network too. Check out Kijiji.ca for the Canadian site and Kijiji.com for the US site.
